Local SEO for French drain and yard drainage contractors

Build useful drainage company service-area pages with true coverage, original examples and clear estimate paths without duplicating cities.

Rank for the work and geography you truly cover

A drainage contractor's potential customer wants to know whether the company will assess a particular property. A generic paragraph with twenty nearby place names does not answer that question. A strong local site makes actual service coverage clear, ties services to real project experience and offers an easy assessment request.

Define the core service radius based on crews, travel time, capacity and applicable licensing. If the business does not accept every town in a county, don't imply that it does. Real address and office details should be consistent on the website and business profiles.

Choose when a location deserves its own page

Create a separate location page when a real visitor benefits from original detail: a staffed branch, service rules unique to that city, relevant approved projects, a distinct service area or meaningful local customer questions. If there is no unique information, a clear shared coverage page may be better.

A useful location page framework

  • State the real area served and specific drainage services available there.
  • Explain one or two locally relevant customer concerns only when supported by actual field knowledge.
  • Show an approved nearby project with genuine context, not a stock photograph presented as local work.
  • Clarify whether first contact is remote screening, a site visit or a scheduled assessment.
  • Include a human-contact option and the same core business name/contact information as the primary site.
  • Link to the most relevant service page and main coverage page rather than repeating their entire copy.

Pages not worth publishing

Avoid automated "French drain installation in [city]" pages that swap only the place name. Don't generate hundreds of ZIP-code pages with identical text or claim fake local offices. Consolidate overlapping pages that have no separate value.

Create a project proof library

For each cleared case study, record service type, year, approved town/region, symptom, constraints, work scope, restoration and documentation the owner allows to be public. Put the most relevant case study on the corresponding service page. Caption photos accurately and avoid guarantee language such as "never floods again."

Even a handful of specific, permission-cleared examples is more useful than a large gallery of unnamed trenches. If there are no publishable customer projects yet, use original photographs of company equipment, crews or work processes and label them honestly.

Optimize the local conversion path

On a phone, the primary CTA should be visible early and near the bottom of the page. Show the territory served, how the first assessment works and how someone can request it. Do not label the form "Book instantly" when a coordinator still must confirm the appointment.

Google's local business documentation recommends accurate business information and validates structured data against page content. Structured data does not guarantee a rich result. A Google Business Profile is managed outside OneStudio, and SEO results cannot be promised from metadata alone.

A realistic 30-day content plan

Week 1: audit business details, current service footprint and top landing pages. Week 2: improve the French drain and surface-drainage pages with original information. Week 3: publish two permission-cleared project examples and update relevant location coverage. Week 4: test enquiries from mobile, confirm all important pages are reachable and inspect search indexing in Search Console when access is available.

A local page is complete when a person can tell whether to call, what the business offers and what happens next. It is not complete simply because the target phrase appears five times.
