Home Inventory Consultation Form: Fields That Matter

Build a home inventory intake around property type, size, documentation goal, collections and timing without collecting private item records too early.

Overview

A useful home inventory form should answer:

It should not ask the customer to create the inventory before hiring the service.

  • What kind of property?
  • Where is it?
  • Roughly how large is it?
  • Why does the customer want an inventory?
  • Are there unusual collections or multiple properties?
  • When does the customer want the work done?

Tell us about the property and what you want documented. Do not include serial numbers, receipts, financial account details, safe combinations or sensitive household records in this public form. Detailed inventory data can be collected through the approved documentation workflow after the service is confirmed.

Confirmation message

Thanks. We received your home inventory consultation request. We will review the property, documentation goal and timing and contact you about the appropriate package or next step.

Collect the property scope, not the private asset catalogue

A strong intake gives the service provider enough context to quote and schedule the work while keeping detailed household data downstream.

Questions businesses ask

Should the form ask the value of the household contents?

Only as an optional broad range if the provider genuinely uses it for scoping. Do not require detailed values.

Should customers upload photos before the consultation?

Not by default.

Should the form ask for the insurance carrier?

Usually optional. The service is documentation, not a claim.

Does OneStudio store the item inventory?

No.
