Private Tutor Pricing Page: Hourly Rates, Trial Lessons and Packages Without Confusion

Structure a private tutor pricing page around hourly rates, lesson lengths, trial sessions and package explanations while keeping the booking path clear.

Overview

Pricing is one of the first questions tutoring prospects ask, yet many tutor websites make it unnecessarily hard to find.

A useful pricing page does not need to expose every commercial detail. It should give a parent or student enough information to understand the likely cost and choose the right next step.

Publish a fixed rate when the service is fixed

If every 60-minute online lesson costs the same amount, publish the rate.

Examples:

Clear pricing reduces repetitive messages and helps visitors self-qualify.

  • 45-minute lesson — $X
  • 60-minute lesson — $Y
  • 90-minute exam session — $Z

Use starting prices only when they are genuinely variable

“From $X” is useful when the price changes for a real reason such as:

Explain what changes the price.

Do not use “from” purely to make the service look cheaper.

  • lesson length;
  • level or subject;
  • one-to-one vs group;
  • online vs travel/in-person;
  • different tutors in a small practice.

Separate the trial from the regular lesson

If a trial has different duration or price, show it as its own offer.

Example:

Introductory lesson — 45 minutes — $X

Standard lesson — 60 minutes — $Y

Explain whether the trial is teaching, assessment, consultation or a blend.

Explain packages without implying platform features

A tutor may sell bundles such as 5 or 10 lessons.

The website can explain the business offer even if package-credit accounting happens outside OneStudio.

Be precise:

OneStudio's currently published feature set does not list native lesson-credit wallets or recurring tuition.

  • number of lessons;
  • lesson duration;
  • total or per-lesson price;
  • expiry rules if any;
  • cancellation/rescheduling policy;
  • payment timing.

Show what is included

Price is easier to understand when the buyer can see what they receive.

Useful details:

Avoid promising a progress dashboard, parent portal or homework platform unless the tutoring business actually uses a separate system that provides those functions and the website identifies it clearly.

  • one-to-one instruction;
  • lesson duration;
  • online/in-person format;
  • included preparation or follow-up if genuinely offered;
  • materials if included through the tutor's actual process.

Add a simple comparison table only if it helps

A table can compare:

Do not create artificial tiers to make the page look sophisticated.

  • trial lesson;
  • standard lesson;
  • extended exam-prep session;
  • small group.

Put the CTA beside the price

If the service is directly bookable, place the booking CTA close to the rate.

If the tutor screens new students, use an enquiry CTA.

OneStudio supports services/pricing and online booking on plans where those modules are included. Check Pricing for current plan scope.

State payment timing

Explain whether payment is:

OneStudio supports payments/deposits where enabled, but do not imply a specific payment rule is active before verifying the project setup.

  • at booking;
  • after the lesson;
  • invoiced separately;
  • collected as a deposit where enabled;
  • handled through another established business process.

Include cancellation/rescheduling rules

Pricing and cancellation policy are connected because the visitor wants to know financial risk.

Keep the summary short and link or route to the full policy on the actual site if one exists.

Do not borrow another tutor's notice period.

CTA

A clear pricing page makes the tutoring offer easier to buy and reduces repetitive pre-booking questions.
