Solar Panel Cleaning Website Redesign: Protect Local SEO and Booking Paths

Redesign a solar panel cleaning website without losing useful URLs, local search signals, project proof or booking paths. Follow this migration checklist.

Overview

A redesign can make a solar cleaning site look much better and perform much worse if the migration deletes the pages that already attract local customers.

Treat a redesign as an SEO and conversion migration, not just a visual refresh.

1. Inventory the old URLs

Record:

Do this before taking anything offline.

  • homepage;
  • cleaning service pages;
  • service-area pages;
  • pricing page;
  • booking/request page;
  • contact page;
  • gallery/project pages;
  • FAQ;
  • reviews/testimonials;
  • useful educational pages.

2. Decide what each page becomes

For every meaningful URL, choose:

Avoid redirecting every old URL to the homepage.

  • keep the URL and improve it;
  • move it and redirect the old URL;
  • consolidate it into a stronger page and redirect;
  • retire it when there is no real replacement.

3. Separate cleaning from installer content

If the old site mixes installation and cleaning, decide which business the new site is actually targeting.

The OneStudio content cluster for solar cleaning should not absorb:

Preserve relevant cleaning content and route installer intent to the correct existing asset if the business genuinely offers both.

  • financing;
  • solar proposals;
  • permits;
  • system design;
  • interconnection;
  • installation project management.

4. Preserve service-area signals

Before redesigning, record:

Consolidate thin city pages carefully.

Do not delete every geographic signal just because the new design uses fewer pages.

  • city/region pages;
  • local project examples;
  • service-area text;
  • address/phone/hours;
  • location-specific reviews.

5. Preserve project and before/after media

Keep high-quality originals when possible.

For each strong example, save:

OneStudio supports website media and portfolio content through features.

That is different from a specialized field inspection report.

  • project type;
  • broad location;
  • residential/commercial context;
  • permission to publish;
  • short description.

6. Rebuild booking and request flows

Map the old conversion paths.

Ask:

Rebuild the new flow around real availability.

OneStudio online booking supports service/time selection where configured.

  • Which services were directly bookable?
  • Which required a quote?
  • Where did customers enter property details?
  • Which CTAs received traffic?
  • What confirmations were shown?

7. Keep pricing logic accurate

If the old site uses:

make sure the new copy does not accidentally change the commercial model.

Do not introduce an instant-price claim if the new platform does not actually calculate it.

  • per-panel pricing;
  • package pricing;
  • starting prices;
  • custom commercial quotes;

8. Map redirects before launch

Create an old-to-new redirect map for important URLs.

Examples:

/solar-cleaning-phoenix → relevant service-area page

/book-cleaning-old → new booking/request destination

/commercial-cleaning → new commercial section/page if retained

Avoid redirect chains.

9. Review page metadata

For each important page, review:

Migration is a chance to improve weak metadata without unnecessarily changing every URL.

  • SEO title;
  • meta description;
  • H1;
  • canonical URL;
  • slug;
  • internal links.

10. Update external profiles

After launch, update controlled external links such as:

A perfect redirect map cannot fix a public listing that still points to a retired domain.

  • Google Business Profile;
  • social bios;
  • local directories;
  • partner/vendor profiles;
  • paid campaigns if used.

11. Test mobile booking

On a real phone, check:

Many local-service conversions happen on mobile.

  • hero CTA;
  • pricing;
  • service area;
  • form fields;
  • date/time selection;
  • confirmation;
  • contact links;
  • gallery speed.

12. Monitor after launch

Watch for:

When Search Console data is available, use it to compare visibility before and after launch.

  • 404s;
  • redirect errors;
  • form failures;
  • booking failures;
  • old URLs remaining indexed;
  • changes in local query visibility when GSC is available.

  • Service-area signals preserved.
  • Project photos migrated.
  • Pricing model checked.
  • Booking/request paths tested.

Redesign the site without erasing what already works

A new website should improve clarity, trust and booking without making the business invisible to customers who already know how to find it.
